Create Albums

Albums are collections of images in the system for personal use or sharing. These 'albums' take up no physical space on the server as they are just links to images within OpenAsset. You can have as many albums as you like and you can also share albums with other users or groups. Albums function like playlists of images and can be an effective way of saving time by grouping your favourite images together, or as a quick way of building a selection of images for use in a project.

Create an Album

You can create albums from the search results page and the Albums page in OpenAsset.

From Search Results

From a search results page, click the "Add to Album" icon below the image thumbnail.

Set Current Album

Set the album you are currently working on as your 'current album'. By doing so you can simply add files to that album when searching for them by clicking on the 'add to current album' button which appears as you hover over a file. All files that are attached to your 'current album' are highlighted in green.

The easiest way to set/change your current album, is on the Albums page. When on this page hover over the album you wish to select, then on the album details that pop up on the right hand-side select the "set as current" option located near the top.

Remove a File from an Album

Files can be removed from an album on the search results page. Once you have identified the specific file you wish to remove from the album simply hover over the file and click on the "remove from current album" option.

In order to remove a file from the album you need to make the album your current album. This can be quickly done when on the album's search results page by adding an image to the carousel, selecting the album menu and clicking 'Change Current Album'. In the "select album" window that pops up type the name of the album.

After clicking the 'Remove from Album' button, although the files will have been removed from the album they will still remain on the page in front of you. Simply refresh the search by clicking the search icon at the top of the page on the right hand-side of the search bar to view the revised results for all the files that remain in that album.
